♣ Meeting For the First Time ♣
Meeting Opal for the first time isn't an easy feat, though, really, few things are with her. Choosing to live alone in caves, and even then traveling to different ones throughout most of the year, it is often hard for even those who already know her to find her, much less for a stranger to bump into her. Even when she is found, she is timid and doesn't trust people right away. She tries to act as though she isn't afraid, and even tries to be civil most of the time, but she's tends to squeak and stumble over her words, then get embarrassed and try to act as if it didn't happen by putting on a cool attitude.



♦ Friendships ♦
Opal's friendships are almost as awkward as her acquaintances. She tends to talk more confidently when she knows the other person is her friend, but she still tends not to say much and doesn't really pick up on social ques. She misunderstands things frequently and can become defensive of her choices if it is a friend that questions them because she feels she is more vulnerable to their opinions and thus she overcompensates in trying to stick to her values when, often, the friend hadn't even been questioning them. She also tends to act as though she is angry when she's worried about a friend, even going so far as to yelling at them, but it is because she still feels vulnerability about showing that she cares.
With her closest friends though, Opal tends to be more open and cheerful, while still not saying much. She often looks up to her closest friends too, and prefers to listen to whatever wisdom and stories they have to share.


♠ Enemies/Rivals/Annoying People ♠
One perk to practically being a hermit is that it is as hard and to make enemies as it is to make friends. However, if you were to see Opal with someone she didn't like, you'd probably think she really did like them. This is because, when faced with someone that she doesn't like or who doesn't like her, Opal tries to be as polite and kind as possible. She fears those who she thinks might not like her and is always trying to be sure she doesn't push any of their buttons or let them know if they push her's. Unfortunately, this doesn't really get them to go away, but she prefers to feel as though she's staying out of trouble than convincing them to go.

♥ Romantic Relationships ♥
Romance is uncharted territory to Opal. She has never been in a romantic situation and she isn't really sure that she ever will be. She doesn't even know what her sexual or romantic preferences are. However, it can be guessed that Opal would be very shy and timid about an intimate relationship, as she is with everything, at least at first. After a while, she might feel like she has to keep them pleased and bring them gifts and tell them how much she loves them all the time while feeling bad if they go out of their way to do anything for her in exchange. She'd also be very needy of physical reassurance. Hugs, kisses, hand-holding: to her these would be more reassuring than if someone told her they loved her a thousand times over. However, her partner would have to be very careful. Even though she might yell at them or act angry when she is worried for them, anything even remotely aggressive or violent from them could scare her off completely.
