It is dark here. The only words you can make out belong to the sign ahead of you: Desert Forest City. Underneath is a message hastily added by hand:The place names would seem unconnected if not for your surroundings, for you stand betwixt three places. To your left, a desert stretches far onto the horizon, orange sands warm and inviting. Ahead of you lies a city, with buildings touching the sky. To your right is a verdant forest, alive with wildlife. Looking back to the sign, you notice coloured arrows beneath it. There are 10 in total, but only 8 are currently labelled. Choose your path, traveller.- Deep forest — Furfur, the fallen angel
- Beachfront city — Bioluminescence, the spirited genius
- Desert outskirts — Sonika-Ylva, the lost princess
- Forest clearing — Theta, the nature prince
- Industrial city — Cry, the trickster queen

— The Deep Forest —Furfur, the fallen angel [/div] Name: Furfur Origin of name: Latin, presumed from 'Furcifer' — 'scoundrel'. Meaning of name: In demonology, Furfur is a fallen angel and count of hell who rules 26 legions. He appears as an angel or a stag with a flaming tail and speaks only lies unless enclosed in a triangle. He speaks in a raucous voice. Furfur sustains marriage, can cause thunderstorms, and speaks on abstract things. Gender: Male Age: Adult Sexuality: Grey-asexual (biromantic)
Character Personality:Furfur seems to operate with his own, darker, moral code — pretty much none. This amoral Kiamara, with his pale fur and silver eyes, is rumoured by many Kiamaras from the forest to be a fallen angel; a demon like his namesake, who killed his pack as a child. Few who manage to meet him ever manage to distinguish emotion in his perpetually blank expression. He is far from emotionless though, possessing the uncanny ability to mimic personalities perfect. The best way to describe him is calculating, able to find the correct way to play anyone. From all known encounters, he has been identified as a socially incapable Kiamara with a particularly dark personality, the ability to mimic personalities and a rather bizarre love of manipulating people. He delights in adapting to potential dangers, whether through gathering information, manipulation or perhaps as far as causing harm, though he's not usually the type to carry out what he considers the dirty work, leading most Kiamaras to label him a psychopath. He's also the sort to be able to talk himself out of most trouble, and tends to gravitate towards other Kiamaras and places he finds intriguing or similar to himself. He never reveals anything, as if he is in fact something other than merely mortal. Likes: None Dislikes: None Strengths: Unknown Weaknesses: Unknown Quirks: None Phobias: None

— The City Beachfront —Bioluminescence, the spirited genius [/div] Name: Bioluminescence Meaning of name: - The biochemical emission of light by living organisms such as deep sea fish, glow-worms and jellyfish.
- The light emitted by said organisms.
Nickname: Kagayaku Origin of nickname: Japanese Meaning of nickname: To emit light/To luminesce Gender: Female Age: Adult Sexuality: Homosexual
Character Personality:Bioluminescence is a bubbly, cheerful Kiamara who loves everything about the ocean. She is immensely committed to her work, and desires to be the best possible. An inspirational quote she lives by is “An invincible determination can accomplish almost anything and in this lies the great distinction between great men and little men.” (Thomas Fuller). Unfortunately for her colleagues, 'Kagayaku''s determination manifests itself in the form of seemingly ceaseless energy and drive. She can come across as hyper and air headed on first meeting, but if you get her onto the subject of her work you would soon see how much of a fool you had been, to judge this puzzling book by her cover. Her strangest trait is her insistence to only speak in third person, like a child. Many Kias put it down to the amount of work she must have done in her childhood, to know as much as she does, and therefore the lack of playing she must have done. Still, this Kiamara is kind, polite and humble and can find it within her heart to love almost anything... Except birds, and squid. They majorly freak her out. The truth is, Kagayaku has one other thing she loves so much it rivals the sea... And it's completely unrelated. In fact, it comes as a shock to most. That thing is everything to do with motorcycles. Maybe a Kiamara cannot ride one, but Bioluminescence can fix them up and tinker with them to get them in perfect 'health', and ride them in her human form. She considers them just as alive as her beloved jellyfish. Besides, neither of them have brains. So why is one alive and the other not? Likes: None Dislikes: None Strengths: Unknown Weaknesses: Unknown Quirks: Aside from her obvious intelligence, her most noticeable quirk is her insistence to talk in third person, almost like a child. Phobias: Birds & squid. While birds are the natural enemy of her beloved jellyfish, squid are just freaky.

— The City Outskirts —Sonika-Ylva, the lost princess [/div] Name: Sonika Ylva Origin of name: Hindi, Scandinavian Meaning of name: Golden one/daughter of the sun, wolf Gender: Female Age: Adult Sexuality: Panromantic Asexual
Character Personality: Personality-wise she is a very calm Kiamara, taking Megumi's shyness and Lupe's sarcasm and combining it to make her a little more outgoing than Megumi and yet still loving her silence. She knows how to get what she wants, and can act a bit of a Princess. Though not as introverted as her parents she can be reserved and refuse to talk to others if she becomes overloaded, and also as she sometimes considers herself above them. She's very smart and loves learning new things, reading and video games, and really hates being embarrassed in front of other Kiamaras, as well as those who like to cause trouble. Sonika can become panicked when exposed to change, and dislikes prolonged social interaction as it requires her to keep up a 'mask' of social niceties — she has Asperger's and so these 'masks' are merely created by mimicking others. Though she can come across as perfect and almost social in short bursts, she can also be unintentionally rude. Sonika is under no illusions of normality, and her attitude to this can change from royally confident to deep self-loathing. She's a (mostly) calm and shy, curious-minded Kia with a touch of Princess syndrome, though it is mainly a front for her confusion in many situations, and she really just wants to make everybody smile. More recently, she's started feeling a bit... disconnected from the world, as she is 'grown-up' and expected to lead her own life. She feels lost in her own life, and has taken to hiding in the outskirts of the city she moved to when she was very small. Her mother, as a desert-dwelling nomad, gave her a great love of the desert and so, even though she now stays nearer to civilisation than in the past, she still stays close enough to the desert to sneak away there at night. It seems she spends a great deal of her nights in the desert alone, trying to figure her thoughts out. Likes: Unknown Dislikes: Unknown Strengths: Unknown Weaknesses: Unknown Quirks: Sonika-Ylva has a tendency, like many aspies, to 'stim' when she gets nervous or excited. It is most common for her to pad her paws against the floor or pace, or repeat sounds from her environment — which is known as echolalia. She may also seemingly 'lose' the ability to speak for periods of time when overexposed to socialising or environmental stimuli. Phobias: Scopophobia
Physical Traits Eye colour: Electric green Hair colour: Dark brown-black, with green tips Horns: Gold ram horns Feathers: Black/gold & white/gold Voice: Unknown Build: Unknown Nationality: Half-Japanese Skin tone: Dark olive Distinguishing features: None

— The Forest Clearing —Theta, the nature prince [/div] Forename: Theta Origin of name: Greek Meaning of name: Theta, pronounced THAY-tuh, is the eight letter of the Greek alphabet. It can be written as either Θ (uppercase) or θ (lowercase). In its archaic form it is used to represent the planet Earth as an astrological glyph, and yet in Ancient Greece the letter was used to the same purpose as a skull and crossbones; to represent death (from θάνατος, 'thanatos'). Middle name: Rowan Gender: Male Age: Adult Sexuality: Pansexual
Character Personality: Theta is a peculiar little boy notorious for living in his daydreams, not just because he has a short attention span — a keen birdwatcher, he's usually content to stay still and focused for hours at a time — but because he finds it more comforting and familiar than the real world. This daydream world also allows him to avoid overly prolonged social contact as it has a habit of making him feel extremely awkward. He likes the company of others, just as long as he is not expected to speak to them for very long. However, he would not describe himself as shy, just timid, as he is extremely easily scared and always wary of the potential for criticism or violence, two things that have always caused him considerable distress. Theta lives for praise, though he can become arrogant when he receives it, and is extremely competitive in trying to receive it (not that he would ever purposefully cause anyone harm even if it would mean he 'won'). He is very complex, and tends to be difficult to understand to those who are not used to him, something that has always frustrated him. Theta loves nature, and spends long periods of time alone with no-one but the birds he observes for company. He really prefers being in nature to any other situation — he'd live alone in the wild if it didn't mean he would have to leave his family, who he loves dearly. He has learnt practically all there is to know about the types of wildlife and plants of the region in which he lives, making him, despite his young age and small stature, easily the best guide to the area. Anyone asked to describe him in a single word would simply receive the answer: 'Determined,' as he is not one to be held back by anything, even the hyper-mobility of his joints, which should suggest that he is a very careful child. Theta just takes it in his stride and carries on as usual. Despite his timid nature, he will always try to make new friends, and though he is very competitive he gives it up in a heartbeat to help others. Nothing will stop him short of violence, though that would stop him very abruptly and with a great deal of freaking out and panic. Theta is very imaginative and creative, putting these skills to good use with his hobby of making things out of flowers and other things he finds in the forest around where he lives, but also by making up stories in his daydreams. It is usually Theta who creates the stories the other Kiamara children use in play, making him a sort of unofficial, albeit timid, leader. It also means he's very good at coming up with excuses and wiggling out of situations, however! He easily becomes fixated on topics and may spontaneously decide to become an expert on a certain topic overnight, then drop it just as quickly, leading to him gathering a great deal of knowledge and being considered very smart by his peers. He is also, however, obsessed with textures and may refuse to touch, wear or eat certain things because of this, which often leads to him being mislabelled as spoilt and fussy. Of everyone, Theta gets on best with the PPS Kias, and when asked will simply reply that they 'think like him' and are therefore good to talk to, otherwise he prefers adult company to others his own age, (however happy and cheery he may appear with them). He is also often seen talking softly to himself, but rarely anywhere he thinks anyone will overhear. Theta does not like to think about growing up as he has become slightly afraid of it, the responsibilities and friends leaving that it entails. He lives more 'in the moment', trying to make every day count as much as possible, and no matter what, that cheery smile never drops. Likes:Of all the many things that make Theta happy, the greatest will always be nature. He loves to be alone in the wild, especially in forests like the one near where he and his family live. It is a calming influence on him, and holds far more beauty than he knows what to do with, even for a child with a considerable interest in making things from flowers like himself. But far more than just this, nature will never cease to fulfil his infinite curiosity and love of new textures, meaning it will never become boring to him like past interests. Leading on from this, he is particularly entranced by birds. To be so free, yet hold such awe in the hearts of his kind... If only he could be part of the sky and all its denizens. Birds, stars, clouds. All of them borrow the freedom of the sky when they traverse it. No-one is cruel or mocking to them. Theta wishes the rest of the world worked just like this. Even if he could fly away with his beloved birds, however, the likelihood is that he would stay. Theta treasures his family, especially his sister, and could never bear to be parted from them. His family are his main source of confidence and praise, two things that this Kiamara child could not manage without. They also provide a 'safe space', if you will, somewhere constant where he can be himself. From this point, it's not particularly difficult to make the leap to the next thing he likes, company. Other Kiamaras are infinitely interesting to him. He loves to talk to others and often attempts to make friends with them, however this is generally quite difficult due to his complex nature and timidness. Still, he seems to end up the unofficial leader of many pretend games the other Kia children play, something he greatly enjoys as it makes people happy. Theta would do anything to make others happier, even at the cost of his own contentment (though this would be unlikely to happen due to the fact that the act itself is something he enjoys). Dislikes: The things Theta dislikes, though not exactly few, tend to be rather specific. However, he has very few irrational dislikes. The things he does not care for tend to be the opposite of the things he does, with a few exceptions. For example, he hates having to stay inside for long periods of time, as he finds it exceptionally boring when he could be out doing other things, like collecting his flowers or watching the birds. He doesn't feel like he ever accomplishes much whilst he is inside. He also holds a certain distaste for certain textures, something that makes him rather picky with his food. Things like suede or velvet, or unplaned wood make him shudder, and he immediately goes to stroke smooth metal or dip his paws in water if he touches them. The same goes for food, with things like swede and liver permanently off the menu for him. Quite a few Kiamaras think he's just being fussy, which leads on to his next hatred, and one of the most significant — not being understood. It drives Theta mad when people don't get something the first time, and he's likely to adamantly refuse explaining it a second time. As much as he loves being around others, he doesn't really grasp the idea that some people might not have understood him immediately, and it often frustrates him when he interacts with others. No matter how frustrated he gets, however, Theta will never resort to violence, as he is terrified of it. Even the slightest suggestion of a fight would send him into a full blown panic attack, one of the reasons he tries to make other Kiamaras happy all the time, and also one of the reasons he so hates being unable to make others happier. No matter his best efforts, there will always be somethings he is unable to fix for people, and knowing that really hurts him. He dearly wishes that everyone could always be content, so reminders that this will likely never be true are not welcome in his mind. His final significant dislike is, quite simply, criticism. In any form, the opposite of the praise he so craves causes Theta significant distress. He may even start crying when criticised, and so seeks to avoid such situations as much as possible. Strengths: Firstly, Theta is exceptionally intelligent. It may be due to his tendency to become obsessed with subjects and research them practically to death, or it may just be how his brain works, but he literally absorbs information like a sponge, and always seems to know a useful piece of information for any situation. He's known to a lot of other Kia children as 'bird boy' for his extensive knowledge of nature and wildlife, particularly of the avian variety. While he doesn't mind this it does mean he gets hurtful comments thrown at him and teased quite a bit. He tends to try and ignore this though, since he really dislikes getting into conflicts. Particular strengths of his are his imagination and creativity. He's often found daydreaming alone in the forest, and uses the fantastic thoughts that come to him in order to create elaborate stories and situations for the other children to use in play. His penchant for daydreaming can be a bit of a problem though, sometimes, when he just completely zones out of everything people are trying to tell him. Theta also uses his vivid imagination to help his own creative projects, a particular passion of his being making jewellery and headdresses from flowers he finds in the woods. Some of his creations you would think more likely to see on the head of a forest spirit or a noble than a small Kia child and his friends! He tends to use these creative skills to try and make others happy. It's almost as if he has some ability to cheer others up. Even his eternally cheery-sounding tone of voice brings a smile to the face of most of the Kias he knows, and his attempts to bring gifts and engage practically everyone in intelligent conversation about a topic they admire generally brings one to the rest. This leads directly on to his intense sense of loyalty, which is probably his strongest traits. Theta will do anything for those he counts as his friends, though this is practically everyone anyway, and would easily forgo his happiness for them. Though he is most definitely not violent and therefore cannot support friends and family in that way, his concern for their well-being and ability to talk them out of trouble is probably just as useful — if not more so! Weaknesses: Probably his greatest weakness, and one not even he himself is aware of, is the way that Theta is so dependent on others for his own happiness. He must have his family around him to feel secure, must be praised to be confident, everyone has to be happy for him to be happy, and he so desperately tries to become friends with everyone. Other Kiamaras are fickle, friends often move away or drop him in favour of someone else and it crushes him every time. He needs to find a way to be happy on his own terms, rather than in others, or he will end up being walked all over, in the name of his attempts to make others happy, once he gets older. But even if he recognised that he was being used by others, he probably wouldn't even say anything due to being so timid. Theta is exceptionally easily frightened, even if you take his acute fear of violence out of the picture, which you shouldn't really since it's the reason he will never stand up for himself — in case it turns into an argument that involves violence. But even without that, it really doesn't take much to make him back down, and most likely run away, since he's also very easily intimidated. The only thing that really brings him out of his shell is receiving praise from someone, and that can sometimes trigger bursts of intense arrogance, almost as if he assumes that he is only praised for something when it is truly amazing, and so he immediately becomes the leading authority on that matter. Sometimes he will even become obsessed with the topic for which he was praised for a short while. Finally, a more physical and literal weakness, is the fragility of his joints. He is hyper-mobile, and while this means he is more flexible than most and therefore able to climb trees and other physical endeavours to a higher degree than other Kias, it also means his joints have a habit of coming out of joint at any given moment, and take a lot longer to heal than usual. Though at first it was suggested he be very careful, Theta just took it in his stride and carried on as usual — with his parents keeping a close eye on him now. Quirks: The most apparent feature of Theta's personality to manifest itself is the way that he talks to himself when he thinks he's alone. Spending so much time off exploring or making things on his own, he takes great comfort from the sound of his own voice, and occasionally even argues a point with himself aloud. While others find it strange, it's perfectly normal for Theta, who believes it simply makes him more honest with both himself and others. Still, he tends to only talk to himself in private anyway. Another rather interesting quality is the fashion in which he develops 'obsessions' with things, and sometimes drops them just as quick. Whether it's being liked by someone, gaining his sister's respect or learning about birds, where other children may be mildly interested in something, maybe finding a feather pretty or a bug vaguely interesting, but Theta immediately searches out all possible knowledge he can on any subject that catches his eye and becomes almost an expert on it overnight, just like he did with birds and all things nature-related. Phobias: Though far from irrational, Theta's truest and most acute fear is, quite simply, of conflict of any kind. Even the slightest hint of violence sends him into a blind panic, and he may even faint, as he cannot understand why anyone would want to cause conflict and consternation amongst others. He goes out of his way to maintain peace at any cost, valuing the continued lack of conflict and the happiness of others well above his own content. Some people would not class this as a phobia as it seems perfectly normal to be afraid of fighting, however it is the exaggerated fear response that conflict creates in him that is irrational, rather than the fear itself.
Physical Traits Eye colour: Gold Hair colour: Dark brown-black Horns: Long, burgundy horns Feathers: Western Meadowlark feathers Voice: Theta's voice is rather strange, compared to other Kiamaras he has met. It is soft and almost purring, a medium-low but quiet, varying-pitched sound that makes many Kias double-take as they realise he's a boy. He is perpetually sunny-sounding, making other happy just by talking, but there is always an undertone of doubt in his voice that only those who know him closely would be able to pick up on. Build: As he is still a teen, it is still uncertain as to what his build will be. For now, though, and certainly for the foreseeable future, Theta is a short and skinny, almost scrawny Kiamara, though not because of anything like him being underfed. It simply seems he has inherited his father's body build, despite the height difference. His leg muscles are already much stronger than most others his age due to the amount of climbing, exploring and running he does in the woods during his games with friends or just by himself, or when he goes chasing after birds, but due to the rest of his less than athletic physique, it is unlikely he'll build any further muscle elsewhere, especially due to the fact his joints are very delicate and easily injured. At first he was forbidden from playing outside, but when he snuck out anyway, cape trailing behind him as he slid through a window, they relented and just keep a careful eye on him. This means he would have trouble building up muscle in areas near joints such as in his arms, and pretty much affirms the fact he's going to stay scrawny. Nationality: Unknown Skin tone: Medium brown Distinguishing features: He always has at least one flower on his person at pretty much all times. Whether it's a simple rose in his mane, a rushed daisy chain necklace, an elaborate flower crown or a particular interesting specimen encased in resin and hung round his neck, the things he makes from the flowers that he is always around tend to end up decorating himself, rather than others. But rest assured, there will always be flora around Theta.
Relationships Friends: Imber (Eternal.), Kotomi (Karmaloco)
Enemies: None Family: Ink (change;) and Chiron (Tano-kun) {Parents}, Ruth (The Stalker) {Sister} Mate: N/A Children: N/A
Further Detail Occupation: None Hobbies: Theta is incredibly creative, and this expresses itself clearly in his hobbies. He has found a way to combine his great love for nature and flowers with his desire to make others happy, through making things from nature, particularly jewellery from flowers. When he started off he was literally just capable of daisy chains, which he often left in his mother or sister's room or at Aunt Kaori's door in an attempt to make her like him. Now, however, he's quite good, and has even made pocket money from selling some of his more complex creations. He still leaves them for Ink and his sister though, and sometimes Kaori too. He also likes birdwatching; having a mild obsession with the avian creatures, it has a calming effect on him and has allowed him to encounter countless rare species through sheer determination and patience. This leads neatly into his next hobby, adventuring! Many a time has seen him attempting to scramble up a sheer cliff face in order to get closer to a falcon's roost. It made him realise how much he likes the thrill of getting to these inaccessible places, and led to his parents' purchase of his 'adventuring cloak' to keep him warm when he insists on charging off into the wilderness in the middle of winter. Finally, and rather unusually for one so active, Theta loves reading. Books are adventures in themselves, a calming experience comparable to watching his birds, and things of beauty in their construction, all by themselves. They are a combination of all that he loves, and he will never cease to be amazed at the 'power' they hold in creating new worlds inside the reader's mind. Interests: Theta tends to be very vocal about his interests, and as such most of them are known to the local Kiamaras, however transient they may be. Of course, he has a habit of picking up and dropping interests very frequently, and as such it's probably best to stick with the reasonably secure main three, which have endured for the majority of his short life so far. The first (and really the second as well) is of course nature. He has always been fascinated with it, and seeks to spend all of his available time around it as he seeks yet more knowledge, beyond that of just books. It was from his interest in nature he developed his skills with all things flower-related, and also his second interest — birds. Of all things in nature, he admires birds the most, perhaps even more than flowers, since the sense of freedom they provoke always has a calming influence on him. His third, and perhaps fittingly the most subtle of his interests, are all things related to adventures. Even the most mundane trip will always be an adventure to Theta, who wishes to see the whole world. It is for this reason he is often seen running through the woods with his brown cape fluttering behind him; in his mind he is travelling the world, as free as his beloved birds. Character Personality: Cry is a curious one, best described as minxish and oddly personable. If there's a way to cheat at it, she's already found it, and probably improved on it tenfold. She's almost genius-level quick at things involving cheating, hiding or deceiving anyone, including close friends, and likes to tell elaborate lies in the form of stories. She finds everything funny, even things that don't seem it to anyone else, and has a very distinctive laugh. She has a tendency to be up to no good, and will occasionally say or do the odd almost psychopathic thing, but her worryingly high strategic ability, skill at lying, and constant amusement seem to keep her out of the majority of trouble. She is always grinning, though in a vaguely frightening way. But is she a friend or a slightly psychopathic maniac? Well, usually both. Rumours say looking at which colour wristband she is wearing over the other will give you the answer. But she really only ever wears the red one on top. Maybe that says something about your question. — The City Café —Connecticut, the hacker enchantress [/div] Name: Connecticut Nickname: Connie Meaning of name: 'Strong-willed, hero' Gender: Demigirl Age: Adult Sexuality: Aromantic Asexual
Character Personality: A strong-willed Kiamara (fitting, considering her name) who, it seems, no one is entirely sure why they love. Always quick to befriend a wide range of people due to her personable nature, though whether this is her true personality is never apparent. She's certainly an exceptional manipulator if not, and her high intelligence and lightning-fast thinking would definitely put her in an advantageous position. Tempestuous and with strong moral views, she is blazing, furious energy given form — with her tenacious determination and subtle but explosive temper she seems too much for even the place in life she has been allotted. Connie has a fieriness about her, always ready to jump feet first into everything in the name of sheer curiousity. Though she may seem pig-headed at times, it is her immense loyalty which makes her so, determined as she is to protect her friends. She's the sort to undertake any kind of task in order to help those she is loyal too, without their knowledge or perhaps even against their will if she knew it would truly help, a bit of a loose cannon when it comes to that. On top of this, however, she's got an intense and deep-seated mistrust of authority figures that means she wouldn't even stop if commanded to. Unless the stopping referred to actually stopping the authority, that is. She's quite good at that. Despite her outwardly petite appearance, Connie is very commanding, using her utter disrespect of authority to be seen as almost a role model and, as such, get others to listen to her, no matter what she may demand of them. Her strongest characteristic is the fact that she will absolutely never give up, no matter the cost, making her morals sketchy at best; the strict set of moral guidelines she lives by make her unlikely to be put in any such situation where this may create a problem. She is exceptionally persuasive, but in an 'Oh geez if I don't listen she's going to shoot me in the face' kind of way rather than the conventional 'Ah yes she's changed my views'. Her fiery temper and argumentative nature make her easily dismissed by some, something she loathes. Though ambitious and proud with a love of confrontation, no-one can deny that Connie is kind-hearted, an absolute sweetheart who truly cares for the people around her, so long as she gets the chance to prove it. Her sometimes abrasive exterior facade can be almost frightening at first, but those who know her for even a little while soon notice how funny and caring she is. Likes: - Fights
Deeply ingrained in her very nature, Connie's love of confrontation has a tendency to get her into trouble, and indeed more than her fair share of fights. This would probably be a problem if it wasn't exactly what she intended. The fiery Kiamara loves the thrill of a good fight, especially a well-matched one, and so uses this method to actively seek them out. Where else would she find willing opponents to go all out on? Sparring just isn't the same, or so she claims. There's a certain pride that accompanies a well-won fight that could have turned dangerous, and Connie is arguably fairly addicted to that feeling. - Company
Though she may be argumentative and sometimes downright violent, there's no denying that Connie genuinely enjoys the company of others. She's a people-loving person lucky enough to be good with others, meaning she's very rarely without friends. Company makes her feel safe and calm. She finds it nice to be able to rely on others and discuss with them anything she needs, like they keep her from making foolish decisions. They probably do; she can be one to rush in without thinking a lot of the time. Connie doesn't like being alone partly because of this; she almost feels a danger to herself. - Coffee
Connie runs nearly entirely on caffeine as her main source of sustenance. Not one for the waste of time that a proper nights sleep represents to her, she'll gladly make her way through the day on four hours of sleep and a cup of coffee permanently present in her hands... And then repeat this routine until the weekend, where she'll pass out for 12 solid hours at a time. Not exactly healthy, but she enjoys the buzz that the caffeine gives her, how the bitter beverage instantly sharpens her senses and warms her whole body. Energy drinks just aren't the same. - Risks
A total adrenaline junkie due to her stubborn and tempestuous nature, Connie gets a thrill from taking risks, loving to just jump into dangerous situations in the hope of everything working out alright. It may seem a strange like for an intelligent Kiamara, but there's just something about them; it's like taking her disrespect for authority to a whole different level, something where she's the one in full control. Also, it's the same rush as getting into a fight for her... Just without the possibility of making enemies.
Dislikes: - Being ignored
As one who is often surrounded by friends, the idea of fading into the background of people's memories is not something that curries much favour in Connie's mind. She finds herself getting fairly lonely as it is, so if the Kiamaras that do know her were to forget, she would be distraught. Other people are everything to her — she truly and deeply cares for those she has filled her life with. To be forgotten by these friends would be the ultimate betrayal in her eyes - Sleeping
Connie is a firm believer that sleeping is very much for the weak. She believes it a waste of time, utterly disregarding the fact she physically needs it to survive, something that causes her much frustration after the many times she's passed out for 12 hours and completely missed plans with others or work. To be honest it's a lot to do with her phobia and not just her irrational hatred of wasting time, but there's certainly no denying she dislikes it. - Authority
Ah, but what a surprise. The aggressive, commanding Connie has a deep hatred of taking orders from others? No-one could possible have guessed. She hates the very idea of people being in positions of power over her, as in her mind that opens the system to all sorts of abuse. She hates rules and being told what to do as they make her feel trapped. There is also the fact she often got in trouble for parroting the things teachers said to her when she was little. Authority figures don't tend to be the most open-minded and accepting people around. - Corruption
Maybe it stems from her hatred of authority, or perhaps she just doesn't like it when people are mistreated. Despite her own sketchy morals her viewpoints on what is right and wrong regarding the way higher ups think are very black and white. Anything intended to hurt others is automatically an enemy to Connie. When anything intended to protect others is corrupt, you can bet she hates it with a passion. If she could, she'd tear down the world in the hope of building it again without corruption and prejudice.
Strengths: - Commanding
Connie is one of those people who appear a natural born leader, able to get anyone to listen to or even obey her almost immediately. It makes her nearly impossible to intimidate or boss around herself, but also ensures a sense of real drive and the ability to get nearly any job done, making her an invaluable asset to a great deal of people. Her aptitude for befriending others means she is rarely short of people for her to class as her team, and use to get things done. - Personable
It's really a remarkable ability, how she seems able to make friends with practically anyone, especially considering her love of confrontation. And yet somehow, Connie is always making good impressions on new people. Perhaps it's her kind-heartedness or perhaps the incredible powers of manipulation rumours would suggest... But her dear regard for her friends would suggest against that. It seems more likely that she's just an honestly lovely person to a lot of other people.
Weaknesses: - Quick to anger
While she can take care of herself just fine, Connie's fiery temper and short fuse do not make a good combination in the event where she is provoked. Despite her likeable nature and sharp mind, all reason is immediately out of the window if someone makes the horrible mistake of challenging or insulting her in some way. It's got her into more than her fair share of trouble, a good deal of which her friend Cry had to resolve by spreading threats and rumours to the underworld. - Stubborn
Connie's the sort of person who, once she's got something in her head (her idea about sleep being a waste of time, for example), is not going to admit that she might be wrong to anybody regardless of evidence or argument, a particularly infuriating flaw in her character. No-one can make her do anything she doesn't want to, if she decides she is going to do something nobody can stop her, and woe betide any who ever dare to try and correct her on something. In this way she seems almost like a child, determined to have her own way.
Quirks: Echolalia Connie loves to mimic and repeat sounds; sometimes even words, phrases or tones of voice/accents, relishing the way they sound. It's a soothing behaviour of hers that never fails to make her a little calmer. Her particular favourite sounds to mimic are those from nature such as bird calls which she is liable to come out with at any given moment, startling more than a few Kiamaras around her. More often than not she'll default to her preferred sounds as a means of communication with those she feels safe with, meaning they have to pick up her 'language' fast. Phobias: Connie, for all her aggression, bravado and confidence, has one major fear; the sort of thing that mainly small children are frightened of — she is deathly afraid of the dark. She's never been one to sleep much, but spent many hours awake in a darkened bedroom with thoughts whirling in her head. When an overactive imagination came into play and she became terrified of every little shadow, she also came to fear going to sleep in case the fears in her head were translated into nightmares. Either way, everything about the dark scares her: lack of senses, the way imagination tends to run wild, nightmares, all of its connotations... She wants nothing to do with it. She keeps the lights on at night now.
Physical Traits Eye colour: Her eyes are a vibrant shade of teal... aqua? Seafoam green? Turquoise? She's never really known how to describe them. They're greenish blue. Hair colour: Her hair is black with bright blue tips. The blue literally sparkles in dull lighting, just another thing that makes her appearance very noticeable. Sometimes the vibrancy of her hair catches her off guard, as more than once she's jumped at a sparkling strand of vivid blue hair blowing into her face. Horns: Gradiented blue/green/white, curved backwards Feathers: Black/purple Voice: Connie's voice is high-pitched and relatively monotonous. It's not the kind of voice you can easily distinguish the speaker's gender by, which works in her favour. When she is upset her voice tends to lean more towards shrill, though anything aggressive she may say is immediately counteracted by the pitch of her voice anyway. Build: She is extremely petite and has a fairly androgynous figure due to the level of muscle she's built up from various martial arts. Connie absolutely hates comments about her (lack of) height and more often than not they are immediately responded to with some form of physical violence. She tends to win. Further Detail Occupation: Programmer Hobbies: Connie only really has two things that class as hobbies and neither are particularly useful to her life, or even productive... At all. But oh well, she doesn't really believe anyone has productive hobbies. That'd go against the whole 'not working' point. The first is visiting coffee shops, usually in the early hours of the morning when she hadn't slept for a week and has a ton of work to do for client deadlines, but she doesn't discriminate. After all, she visits them pretty much constantly throughout the day as well. It's a good thing she has a steady flow of money from her job — she's probably keeping the local economy afloat single-handedly. The second is video games, and it's a good thing she's not fond of being productive anyway, because she has the rather unfortunate tendency to forget the entire concept of time when playing games. A gaming marathon with someone who doesn't usually sleep during the week can only ever end badly for anyone who wants to play with her. At least she uses the night for something — finishing all those old games she never completed fully! Interests: Interest-wise, her main interest is the field in which she works, despite its scale. Connie is a programmer/hacker, often called in to evaluate security systems or write new ones. The wealth of information now available to anyone with Internet access and basic programming knowledge is something she finds both greatly interesting and amusing. The idea of the Internet of Things connecting everything, with all systems having information on everyone and every user group, is a fascinating concept for someone who spends so much time both trying to stop third parties getting hold of information and finding information others don't want her to find, so she does enjoy doing her research on the latest developments in between the standard security jobs. Of course, she gets the shady jobs as well, but digging up hard to find and restricted information for dubious purposes is kinda a thrill, and she's always had a thing for those.
