personality: Fern is rather silent unless she is around someone she has known for a while and is very comfortable with. It's a mixture of being told "children should be seen, not heard" and told off as a child, and her shyness. It often renders her unable to find her tongue in the company of strangers. She lives in her head, so to speak, and is always thinking. Thinking about the world, her life, upcoming events, things she could write about. She wishes to be a published writer, but to date has been too shy to submit any of her works. She mostly writes for herself and family, and works part time at a book store. When she's not writing, she's reading. She feels a large sense of loyalty to her family, and trying to keep them happy all the time; something she wasn't always growing up. Once she becomes comfortable with you, she becomes a little more chatty and outgoing. But, she doesn't like big change in her life and it can make her a bit scared and anxious. Outside she keeps a garden, flower beds, fruit trees. Anything she thinks is pretty; there's no 'ugly' plants in Fern's patch.
